Microsoft Office Purchase Options

You do not need Office 2013 or 2016 to complete the SimBook assignments, quizzes, and tests, but you do need it to complete the projects. If you do not have Office 2013 or 2016, you can do your projects on campus in the Computer Science lab in IRC115. The lab is open Monday-Friday from 9AM to 9PM.

If you have an older version of Office you will not have all the options required for some of the projects. You need to use Office 2013/2016 to be sure that you have all the features required to complete all of the projects correctly.

Many versions of Office do not include Microsoft Access. In addition, Access is not available on Macs. If you don't have Access on your computer you can use the Computer Science lab in IRC115.

If you want to be able to do your projects on your own computer, here are a few options for purchasing Office that may be good for you.

Office 365 Personal: The cost is $6.99 per month. This gives you access to Office on one PC or Mac, one tablet, and your smartphone. This is a good option if you don't plan to keep Office, and only want to have it for our class. For this option, go to https://products.office.com/en-us/office-365-personal.

Office 365 Home: You can try it for one month free, and after that it is $9.99 per month. This gives you access to Office on five PCs or Macs, five tablets, and multiple smartphones. This is a good option if you don't plan to keep Office, and only want to have it for our class. You can find this option at https://products.office.com/en-us/office-365-home

Office 365 University: This is a four year subscription to Office for a total cost of $79.99. This gives you access to Office on two PCs, Macs, or tablets, and two smartphones. This is a good option if you plan to use Office for the next few years. For this option, go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/university/
