CSC 105 Textbook Information for Spring 2018

For this course you have a choice between getting physical books plus ebooks, or getting only ebooks. The ebooks are necessary as they include access to the online systems we will use for projects and exams. You must buy one of the book packages at the bookstore so that you get the ebooks and the registration code for the course software. The ebooks are cheaper and have everything you need. Some students feel more comfortable with the physical books, others are happy with the ebooks. It is up to you to decide which package will be better for you.

You can either go to the bookstore to get the books or order them from the bookstore at http://middlesexcc.bncollege.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/BNCBHomePage?storeId=88481&catalogId=10001&langId=-1. Click on the link for texbooks and fill in the information for our class. Online orders will be ready in approximately 48 hours and must be picked up at the bookstore within a week of being ready or can be shipped to you.

Microsoft Office 2016 in Practice
Nordell, Stewart, Easton, and Graves

We will be using a system called Connect with Using Information Technology and we will be using a system called SIMNET with MS Office in Practice.

You must buy one of the following packages at the bookstore to get the ebooks and the registration codes for the software.

Buy One of the Following Packages:

1. Print Books, EBooks, and Software: This package is called "MCC CSC 105 BUNDLE W/ CNCT + SIMNET >BI" (ISBN: 9781260418026). This contains the two textbooks and a card with one code which provides access to the EBooks and the Connect and Simnet software. The cost is $113.35.
   
   
2. EBooks and Software: This package is called "CONNECT + SIMNET 2 CODES >I <" (ISBN: 9781260417890). This package consists of a card with one code which provides access to the EBooks and the Connect and Simnet software. It may not be out on the shelves in the bookstore; if not you need to ask a bookstore employee and they will get it for you. The cost is $84.30.

There are no used books for either package.

Don't buy the books from someone else because you need the access codes for the software, and they cannot be reused. Don't buy the books elsewhere because you will end up spending more money.

If you order the books from the bookstore online, you can either pick them up at the bookstore or have them shipped. It normally takes 48 hours to process an order (it may take longer right at the beginning of the summer session because they will be very busy). There are a few different shipping options which range from $7.50 to 16.95; the cheapest takes 7-10 days to ship, so be aware of that when you are deciding whether you want to pick up or ship.
